Man On Electric Bike Struck, Killed In Orangevale

Orangevale, CA (September 23, 2024) A devastating collision occurred in Orangevale on September 19th, 2024. A man was riding an electric bike when he was struck by a vehicle and killed, officers reported. It happened at approximately 4:30 p.m., at the intersection of Elm Avenue and Beech Avenue, not too far from Hazel Avenue.

It was late Thursday afternoon, September 19th, as a man rode an electric bicycle through the streets of Orangevale. The rider was traveling south on Beech Avenue as a Chevrolet pickup truck was headed east on Elm Avenue, according to reports. Roe reasons that remain unknown, the two entered the intersection at the same time and slammed into each other. The impact threw the rider from the electric bike and the driver of the pickup truck immediately stopped and waited for authorities.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground. Sadly, the impact had killed him and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. Officers reported that the driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision and cooperated with officers during their investigation. Officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this fatal accident.
