FRESNO, CA (June 28, 2022) – Rohit Singh, 23, was killed while riding his bicycle near Highway 99 in Fresno according to the Fresno Bee.
The accident occurred on Thursday around 9 p.m. at the intersection of West Shaw and North Hayes avenues.
An SUV driver was heading westbound on West Shaw when he suddenly noticed Singh, but didn’t have time to avoid hitting him due to poor lighting conditions at night.
Rohit Singh was thrown off his bike onto the road and was sadly pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver remained on the scene, according to officers, and did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
It is also unknown at this time whether speed was a factor in this crash, or whether Singh was wearing a helmet or if he carried lights and reflectors on his bicycle at the time of the accident.
