Roseville, CA (May 31, 2024) An evening bicycle ride left one rider lucky to be alive on Tuesday, May 28th. The bicyclist was struck by a vehicle while riding along Foothill Boulevard in Roseville, not far from Junction Boulevard. It was right around 8:45 p.m. when the accident occurred, leaving the bicyclist with life-threatening injuries, according to reports.
As the bicyclist rode along Foothill Boulevard on a California evening, a vehicle approached. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle and the bicycle collided. The impact violently threw the bicyclist from the bike and severely dented the bicycle in several places. The bicyclist landed on the ground with life-threatening injuries, officers reported. The driver stopped and stayed with the victim until authorities arrived, hoping and praying that the bicyclist would be okay.

Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene and found the vehicle with damage. The bicycle was on the ground, bent and damaged, and the rider was several feet away, with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed to the rider’s side and helped them as much as they could. However, it was obvious that the rider was in need of a hospital, and needed it quickly. The victim was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.
Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in this collision. Evidence was gathered and officers are still working to try and determine what caused this horrible accident between a car and a bicycle on Foothill Boulevard. The bicycle was hauled away in a twisted heap of metal and dented tires, a reminder of the horrible accident that had just occurred.
