VISALIA, CA (November 8, 2022) – Shay Dejong is on the run for a fatal hit-and-run crash in Visalia and police are seeking the public’s help in bringing her to justice.

Dejong struck and killed a 25-year-old bicyclist on Saturday, November 5, at around 1 p.m. on on Avenue 144 south of Avenue 313. She failed to stop and render aid, and instead fled the scene.
The bicyclist was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment, but sadly succumbed to his injuries, according to KMPH.
Police spoke with witnesses, but ultimately social media posts about the accident is what led to Shay Dejong’s residence.
When police arrived and knocked on the door, Dejong fled her home on foot. Officers canvassed the area, but could not find Dejong.
