Lakewood, CA (September 27, 2024) A school bus crash caused a fatality in Lakewood this morning. One woman passed away at the scene near Del Amo and Norwalk Boulevard.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. L.A. County Sheriff’s Department raced to the scene and learned about the collision. Reports say a school bus with no students was heading west on Del Amo and attempting a left onto Norwalk.
A Honda driver then reportedly ran a red light, hit the bus, and a hit a woman riding a bicycle. Paramedics tragically pronounced her deceased.
Officials have not reported any other injuries at this time.
Update 9/30: The victim has been identified as Tami Hayworth, a 66-year-old.
