Merced County, CA (January 25, 2024) – The Merced community mourns the loss of Yolanda Marie Rodriguez, 48, who tragically lost her life on January 12th after being struck by a car while riding her bicycle on West Childs Avenue in Merced County.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and despite paramedics’ best efforts to revive her, the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office reported that Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to reports, a 42-year-old Merced woman was driving west on West Childs Avenue when the collision occurred between Rodriguez and the vehicle. The driver promptly called for help and remained at the scene, providing crucial information to authorities. The collision took place between G Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
