San Diego, CA (August 3, 2023) A young bicyclist was hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in a Logan heights neighborhood. The San Diego Police Department said the accident occurred near 29th Street and Ocean View Boulevard.
The bicyclist, described only as “young” by the San Diego Police Department was riding their bike in the Logan Heights neighborhood a little before 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday when they were hit by a vehicle. The bicyclist’s injuries were first considered serious because they were bleeding a lot from the head, according to police.

The victim, later described as a 10-year-old boy, was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital for an evaluation where his injures were downgraded from serious to minor. SDPD Lt. Adam Sharki said the driver of the vehicle who hit the bicyclist stayed at the scene and cooperated with police officers.
It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
