Victorville, CA (July 31, 2024) Passengers on a city bus in Victorville were surprised when the bus collided with two other vehicles on Tuesday afternoon, July 30th. The accident occurred just before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of the 15 Freeway and D Street. One person was airlifted in serious condition, according to reports.
A gray SUV and a red pickup truck collided with a Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) bus on Tuesday afternoon. The cause of this collision remains unknown, but the vehicles sustained extensive damage, officers reported. The red pickup truck lost a door and was completely smashed in with all of its windows busted. The turquoise city bus sustained major front-end damage and the SUV sustained damage to both its front and back-ends according to photos taken of the scene.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles. Officers found one person with life-threatening injuries and requested an ambulance at the scene. Paramedics arrived and rushed the victim to Victor Valley Global Medical Center’s landing zone where they were airlifted to a trauma center. Another victim, a passenger on the city bus, was trapped. Firefighters had to help free the victim through the side window of the bus.
Officers closed Westbound D Street at Second Street so they could investigate the scene. The investigation is being led by the Victorville Police Department, according to reports. Officers are working to determine what happened to cause this collision as well as who was at fault.
