Hesperia, CA (August 27, 2024) One person sustained life-threatening injures after being ejected from their vehicle on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The two-vehicle accident occurred on the 16 Freeway in Hesperia, at approximately 12:22 a.m., according to reports. It all happened near Bear Valley Road, and left the occupants of the second vehicle uninjured.
It was just after midnight in Hesperia as vehicles traveled north along the 15 Freeway. Just south of Bear Valley Road, a 2006 Pontiac G6 driven by a man in his 20s, drove along the #2 lane. A 2023 Nissan Rogue was driving in the #1 lane, officers reported. Suddenly, the Pontiac attempted a left turn, causing the two vehicles to collide. Reports indicated that the two vehicles lost control and crashed into the center divider. The driver of the Pontiac was ejected from his vehicle, officers reported.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find the male that had been ejected in critical condition. Officers at the scene reported that they found the man unresponsive. The San Bernardino County Fire Department requested an air ambulance to come to the scene. The helicopter landed on I-15 and rushed the man to Loma Linda Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the Nissan were uninjured in this collision.
