Lassen County, CA (September 18, 2023) One person was killed and another was critically injured on Friday after a Polaris RZR side-by-side crashed with a truck. The California Highway Patrol said the Polaris was hit by a Ram pickup.
The driver of the truck, Jacob Beauchman, was driving southwest on Standish Buntingville Road and nearing an intersection with Lakecrest Road. This was when the collision happened. The two occupants of the Polaris were both thrown from the side-by-side.

The driver of the Polaris was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger, identified as Stacie Sission, was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno with severe injuries. Beauchman, the driver of the Dodge Ram was uninjured in the collision.
Officers suspect alcohol was a factor in this crash. It is still under investigation.
