Palmdale, CA (October 22, 2024) It was just before 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning when several vehicles collided on the Sierra Highway in Palmdale. Reports indicated that the collision occurred at the Angeles Forest Highway interaction, not far from Antelope Valley 14 Freeway off-ramp. One person sustained injuries in this accident that involved at least five vehicles.
At 5:51 a.m., the morning commute was just starting for many motorists. As vehicles headed along the Sierra Highway in Palmdale, five vehicles suddenly collided at approximately 5:51 a.m. The vehicles blocked the highway and debris from the accident littered the lanes, causing traffic hazards. Dispatch began receiving 911 calls about the accident.
Deputies with the Palmdale Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and found the five vehicles in the middle of the highway. They rushed to the vehicles, ready to administer medical attention to anyone in need. One person was found with injuries and was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Officers took statements from those involved and investigated the scene. They are determined to piece together what happened on this stretch of Sierra Highway. They are also working to uncover who was responsible for this accident. A tow truck had to remove two of the vehicles that had sustained major damage. Crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris and glass that littered the highway, as well.
