At approximately 7:00 p.m., a vehicle suddenly began driving the wrong-way at a high rate of speed, according to reports. The wrong-way vehicle collided with another vehicle, head-on. Witnesses told authorities that the wrong-way driver quickly got out of their vehicle, following the crash, and took off on foot.
Paramedics tended to the victims and found one person with injuries. Officers began searching the area for the driver who fled the scene of the crime. They quickly found him walking along the highway, covered in blood, officers reported. The man was placed under arrest, but was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. The Hermosa Beach Police Department has reported that the driver faces several felony charges.
