Sacramento, CA (August 17, 2023) A man was killed in a rollover collision involving 2 vehicles on State Route 104 Thursday morning. The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5:19 a.m. and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 2012 Honda Civic was driving eastbound on State Route 104, according to the California Highway Patrol. At the same time, a 2016 Dodge Ram was traveling westbound. Officials said the Honda crashed head-on with the Dodge Ram. There were witnesses at the scene who told authorities that the Honda was driving at a very high rate of speed, crossing the yellow lines on the highway and driving the wrong-way.

The Honda then sped around a curve, drifting into the wrong lane where it collided with the Dodge, then rolled. The Honda’s driver, a 53-year-old male, was killed in the accident and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old male, complained of back pain but refused medical attention, CHP said.
California Highway Patrol said that alcohol and drugs do not seem to be a factor in this accident.
