Los Angeles, CA (January 8, 2024) A 2-vehicle collision on West 60th Street in South Los Angeles claimed one motorist’s life on Saturday, January 6th. Surprisingly, the driver of the second vehicle fled the scene on foot following the fatal crash, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It all started just before 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West 60th Street when one of the vehicles was traveling north on Broadway. At the same time, the second vehicle was turning right onto Broadway from 60th Street and the two vehicles collided.

Immediately following the crash, the driver of the second vehicle got out of the car and ran away from the scene on foot. Both vehicles involved had to be removed from the scene and crews had to clean glass and debris from the roadway.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the driver of the other vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated. They were rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. Sadly, they later succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the hospital.
