Madera County, CA (August 28. 2024) A chaotic chain reaction collision occurred in Madera County on Tuesday morning, August 27th, 2024. The accident involved at least 6 vehicles, including a semi-truck, and left one person seriously injured. It all took place on Highway 41, at the intersection of Avenue 12, right around 7:30 a.m.
Initial reports indicated that a Volkswagen Atlas, a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, a semi-truck, a white Lexus, a Subaru and one other vehicle were all involved in this collision. For reasons that officers are still working to ascertain, they collided in the northbound lanes of SR-41. Officers reported that the Volkswagen had major rear-end damage, the pickup truck had major front-end damage, and another vehicle was completely smashed and destroyed, sitting under the semi-truck.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and quickly sought out anyone in need of medical attention. They found one person with serious injuries, according to reports. Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for unknown injuries.
Detectives at the scene gathered evidence and took statements from those involved, as well as those who witnessed the accident. They are working to determine what caused this multi-vehicle collision in Madera County and who was at fault. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway and crews worked quickly to remove the glass and debris from the scene.
