Berkeley, CA (October 7, 2024) A chaotic, two-vehicle collision in Berkeley sent a vehicle crashing into a house on Friday afternoon, October 4th, 2024. It happened in the 800 block of Channing Way, around 4:45 p.m., officers reported. Two people sustained injuries in this chaotic collision, however, no one inside the house was hurt, according to reports.
It was 4:45 p.m.on Friday afternoon when two vehicles collided in a Berkeley neighborhood. The force from the collision sent one of the vehicles off the road, where it slammed into a house’s front porch, officers said. It happened on the 800 block of Channing Way. All of the airbags inside the vehicle deployed when it struck the house, according to reports.
Police Officers arrived at the scene and immediately placed police tape around the scene, blocking off a section of the road. Firefighters arrived with a firetruck and began checking occupants inside both vehicles, as well as the house. They found the drivers of both vehicles with injuries, but no one inside the house was injured in this collision. At this time, it is unknown if anyone was taken to a hospital or treated at the scene.

Officers are working to determine what caused the initial collision between the two vehicles. They are also piecing together who was responsible for this collision. Crews worked to clean up the debris and a tow truck was called to the scene as well.
