Las Vegas, NV (October 14, 2024) A collision in the northeast Las Vegas Valley claimed two lives on Sunday, October 13th, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Sloan Lane, according to reports. The two-vehicle collision claimed the lives of both drivers, a 22-year-old and a 20-year-old.
It was 1 o’clock in the morning in the northeast Las Vegas Valley as motorists headed to various destinations. Initial reports indicated that a 1991 Honda Prelude, driven by a 22-year-old man, was driving east on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Sloan Lane. At the same time, a 2003 Mercedes Benz, driven by a 20-year-old man, was speeding as it headed west along Lake Mead Boulevard.

Officers reported that the Mercedes suddenly crashed into the center median, which sent the vehicle into a spin. It then crossed the center divider line and began moving west in the eastbound lanes, according to reports. The Honda slammed into the passenger side of the Mercedes Benz at a high rate of speed.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles with major damage. Officials hurried to the vehicles, ready to administer life-saving treatment to anyone who had been injured. Unfortunately, they found the drivers of both vehicles with fatal injuries, reports indicated. They were both pronounced dead at the scene and officers requested a coroner at the scene.
