WESTCHESTER, CA (July 21, 2022) – Two people suffered serious injuries today when an LAX shuttle bus carrying as many as 30 passengers crashed on the lower level of the terminal area at Los Angeles International Airport today.
The crash occurred about 12:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which reported there were 23 people aboard the shuttle. The vast majority of them, however, did not appear to suffer any injuries.
Two people, however, were described as being in “at least serious condition,” according to the fire department.
Firefighters were working to determine the total number of patients and the extent of their injuries.
The cause of the LAX shuttle bus crash was not immediately provided, and it was unclear if other vehicles were involved. It was unclear what type of shuttle was involved in the crash.
Airport officials urged motorists to consider using the upper level of the terminal horseshoe roadway while crews responded to the crash.
