WALNUT CREEK, CA (August 1, 2022) – Briana Day, 28, was arrested Saturday for the DUI killing of one pedestrian, and injuring another in Walnut Creek.
Walnut Creek Police officers reportedly heard a crash at around 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning near North Main Street and Pine Street. Officers arrived to find a pickup truck and two pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk of North Main Street.
The pickup truck also crashed into a cement pillar, according to CBS News.
One of the victims was taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries, and the other was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police arrested Briana Day, whom they say was driving under the influence, for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
Day was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility and was being held on $300,000 bail.
