33yo Alfonso Chavez of Sanger ID’d as cyclist killed by semi-truck in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2022) – Alfonso Chavez, 33, of Sanger, has been identified as the man killed by a semi-truck on Monday, according to Your Central Valley.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s office reports that the accident occurred around 3:40 a.m. near Jensen and DeWolf avenues.

CHP reports say that Alfonso Chavez was riding his bike and veered into the path of the semi-truck behind him for unknown reasons.

The front of the semi-truck clipped Chavez’s bike, ejecting him onto the road. Authorities pronounced him dead on the scene.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident, or whether the semi-truck could have avoided hitting Chavez.
