SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (August 9, 2022) – Virginia Meza, 68, was killed by a tow truck driver who struck Meza as she was approaching her car and crushed her into the door.
The collision occurred on Saturday around 8 p.m. when the truck collided into Meza while she was trying to get something out of her car. The mother and grandmother was taken to a nearby hospital where she received treatment and surgery, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the tow truck sped away from the scene at St Andrew’s Place and 48th Street near Vermont Square.
One witness claims to have seen the entire chain of events and called 911 immediately.
Meza’s family went door to door asking for witnesses or possible videos from home security cameras or anything else that might help them apprehend the truck driver.
