TRUCKEE, CA (September 28, 2022) – Andrew Phillips crashed his 2021 Subaru Forester into a construction zone on State Route 28 and ended up killing a construction worker.
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the cause and all the details of the accident that occurred on Monday night.
Phillips reportedly crashed into the construction zone that was under one way control while heavily intoxicated. As a result, he was unable to slow down or maneuver around the construction site in time to avoid collision.
After Phillips struck the construction worker, he drove into a dump truck and excavator on the construction site.
Phillips was subsequently arrested by CHP officers for suspicion of DUI and booked into the Nevada County Sheriff’s station in Truckee.
