Alameda County, CA (September 13, 2023) 3 teenagers and 1 adult were suspected of carjacking a vehicle and leading officers on a high-speed chase. Investigators said that carjackers stole the vehicle at gunpoint and then wrecked it during a pursuit.
It all happened on Sunday, September 10th in the Whispering Oaks area of Castro Valley, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. It is considered a quiet, peaceful community and many are shocked that this happened. Deputies received the call about the carjacking around 8:45 p.m.

Deputies located the stolen vehicle near 105th Avenue and Edes Avenue in Oakland. The vehicle fled, leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit that lasted over 5 miles. The Oakland Police Department helped by supplying a helicopter to more easily follow the suspects. The suspects continued at a high speed until they crashed into a parked car on 50th Avenue, according to Deputies.
The occupants were apprehended and taken into custody. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Angel Aguilar Lopez of Oakland and three juveniles. Lopez was booked into Santa Rita Jail on multiple charges. The juveniles were booked into a juvenile Justice Center.
