ANTIOCH, CA (May 11, 2022) – A single vehicle accident on State Route 4 in the Antioch area injured four passengers and left another dead.
There were five total passengers in a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser when the accident occurred. The 42-year-old female driver veered the vehicle to the right and off of SR 24, causing the car to flip over and crash. The driver was said to be in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Two of the passengers were children who suffered serious injuries, and another passenger was described as a 19-year-old man with minor trauma coming away from the accident.
Unfortunately, the remaining occupant, a 21-year-old man, died in the hospital as a result of his injuries sustained in the accident.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, but was released to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
The name of the decedent has been withheld pending notification of family.
