WILTON, CA (July 26, 2022) – Arla Gustafson, 79, was killed in a Wilton car accident on Dillard Road on Sunday when she lost control of her 2016 Toyota Corolla according to ABC 10 News.
The California Highway Patrol report says that Gustafson veered off to the right shoulder of the road and over corrected, causing her to drive toward oncoming traffic when she hit a Hyundai head on.
Arla Gustafson and the driver of the Hyundai were both trapped inside their vehicles. A 12-year-old child was able to escape from the Hyundai.
Gustafson was transported to Kaiser South Hospital where she later tragically succumbed to her injuries.
CHP officers say that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in this case.
We currently do not know the condition of the Hyundai driver or the child that was a passenger in the vehicle, but we will update this story with more information when it becomes available to us.
