LOS ANGELES, CA (June 21, 2022) – A big rig truck has rear ended and crushed a Tesla on the 405 freeway according to a tweet from Marcel M.
As this story is developing, details on the cause of the accident or the condition of the motorists involved is unknown.
From the aerial image, it appears that the damage is substantial as the rear half of the Tesla is completely mangled.
The driver of the truck also appears to have remained in the vehicle, wearing a reflective orange and yellow vest.
The front left of the Tesla also looks to be damaged, indicating collision either with another vehicle or the center divider. It may also be the result of the truck pushing the Tesla forward into the median. Fluid can be seen leaking from the Tesla and draining towards the median.
Traffic is reportedly backed up to the 101 freeway, but from where is currently unknown.
The scene of the accident appears to involve only two vehicles at the moment and no other cars are in adjacent lanes. Traffic on the opposing side of the freeway appears to be unaffected at this time.
