Victorville, CA (August 27, 2024) A chaotic two-vehicle collision occurred in Victorville on Thursday, August 22, 2024, leaving one vehicle wedged under a guardrail. The collision took place on Interstate 15 between Palmdale Road and Nisqualli Road, right around 2:42 p.m.
A white 2018 BMW 7 Series and a gray 2014 Honda Civic were headed north on Interstate 15 in Victorville. For reasons that remain a mystery to officers, the two vehicles collided, forcing both of them to slam into the guardrail. However, the Honda Civic somehow ended up going beneath the guardrail. The vehicle became wedged and reports indicated that there was approximately 100 feed of guardrail damage.
The California Highway Patrol Victorville Station arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles. Officers checked the occupants and found that the driver of the BMW was uninjured. However, the driver of the Honda had sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for unspecified injuries, according to reports.
Officers had to close a portion of the freeway, causing significant traffic delays. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews cleaned up the debris and glass as quickly as they could. Officers are still working on this accident to determine what exactly happened on that stretch of freeway, as well as who was at fault.
