Manteca, CA (August 9, 2024) A chaotic chain-reaction collision occurred in Manteca on Thursday, August 8th, leaving one person with injuries. Officers reported that the accident occurred on Highway 99/State Route 120 at approximately 9:32 a.m., not far from Yosemite Avenue. The collision involved four vehicles and a semi-truck, according to reports.
It was just after 9:30 on Thursday morning as a white Acura sedan and a red sedan traveled along Highway 99/State Route 120. Suddenly, the white Acura crashed into the red sedan. The force shoved the vehicle under a semi-truck, officers reported. The car sustained serious damage and began lodged under the semi-truck. Details on the collision are hazy but officers reported that two others vehicles were also involved in this chain-reaction crash in Manteca.
The Stockton Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene and officers with the California Highway Patrol also arrived. They found the vehicles blocking the roadway, causing traffic issues. Emergency personnel went from vehicle to vehicle, ready to give aid to anyone in need. One person was found with significant injuries, according to reports. Paramedics transported them to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation began and officers gathered every piece of evidence they could find at the scene. They also took statements from those involved in this multi-vehicle accident. They are determined to better understand what caused this collision, as well as who was responsible.
