Los Angeles, CA (October 5, 2023) – A 50 year-old male cyclist was tragically killed on Wednesday, October 5, in a fatal hit-and-run on Vernon Street in Los Angeles. The accident, took place around 10:30 p.m. was reported at the intersection with Sixth Street in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
The victim was riding east on Vernon Avenue when a driver struck him from behind. The man was thrown from his bike and landed on the ground, sustaining major injuries. The vehicle fled the scene of the accident without stopping to help the man.

When paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
Police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run on Vernon Street. They are hoping to find a description of the vehicle involved and or the identity of the driver.
