SAN GREGORIA, CA (NOVEMBER 25, 2023): One person has been reported dead following an accident on Highway 1 in the San Gregorio neighborhood this week.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Friday, November 24th in the area where Highway 1 intersects with Highway 84. Authorities received calls of involving a fiery crash at around 3:04 p.m. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, deputies discovered a GMC Yukon fully engulfed in flames. A coroner also appeared on scene.

It is unclear what caused this fatal incident, and if any other vehicles were involved. Additional occupants of the GMC were not indicated in preliminary reports. Identifying information regarding the victim remains disclosed, likely pending notification of the victim’s next of kin.
Road closures persisted for about an hour after the incident pending an initial investigation. At 4:31 p.m., one lane opened for traffic. Drivers were expected to anticipate delays on the freeway.
