Stockton, CA (May 4, 2024) A two-vehicle collision in Stockton on Friday afternoon left one person trapped inside their vehicle as it sat on railroad tracks. Officers reported that this collision took place on May 3rd at approximately 2:37 p.m. at Industrial Drive and McKinley Avenue. One person was left with serious injuries following this stressful collision.
A white pickup truck approached the intersection of Industrial Drive and McMinley Avenue in Stockton on Friday afternoon. At the same time, a blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was also approaching the intersection, while hauling a U-Haul trailer. For reasons still unknown, the two vehicles collided in the intersection. The force from the collision did so much damage to the SUV that one of the occupants became trapped inside. The vehicle was also stopped on the railroad tracks, officers reported, making the entire situation more stressful.
Firefighters quickly used specialized tools to cut the vehicle open and free the trapped occupant. They discovered that the victim had sustained serious injuries in the accident and carefully placed them on a stretcher. They were rushed to a local hospital by ambulance to receive emergency treatment.
The SUV had to be moved from the railroad tracks and officers worked the scene, determined to figure out what caused this accident and who was at fault. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Stockton Police Department. Crews had to clean debris from the roadway following the investigation, officers reported.
