Los Angeles, CA (July 31, 2024) A rollover crash occurred on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024, in the West Athens area of Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision happened on the Glenn Anderson Interstate 105 Freeway, near Western Avenue. At least two people were involved in the 9:30 a.m. collision and paramedics were requested at the scene.
A silver Honda Civic was driving west on Interstate 105 on Wednesday morning, July 31st. At the same time, a silver Honda Pilot SUV was also heading west on the same stretch of freeway, in front of the Civic. The Civic was going faster than the Pilot SUV and ended up rear-ending it as they were both traveling in the lane. The impact sent the Honda Pilot SUV rolling in the numbers one and two lanes, according to reports.
First to the scene was the California Highway Patrol. The Lost Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after the CHP. They all worked together to help those in need of medical assistance. Reports indicated that at least one person sustained significant injuries in the collision. Officers requested a tow truck to come to the scene and remove both of the badly damaged vehicles from the scene.
Officers began gathering evidence and took statements from those at the scene. They are working to determine what exactly happened on that stretch of Interstate 105 to cause this collision. They are also determined to uncover who was at fault for this collision in West Athens.
