Windsor, CA (June 25, 2024) A chaotic collision occurred in Windsor on Monday morning, June 24th, officers reported. At least four vehicles were involved in this accident on Highway 101 in Sonoma County. It occurred just before noon, not far from the Arata Lane on-ramp. Reports indicated that more than one person sustained injuries in this collision.
Initial reports indicated that a white Lexus, a Mini Cooper, a brown Kia and a silver sedan were all involved in this collision on Highway 101. Officers said it all started when the silver sedan and the brown Kia crashed into each other, for reasons that are still unknown. The Kia ended up in the center divide of the highway, while the sedan ended up on the right side of the embankment. A Mini Cooper and a white Lexus were also involved in this collision, officers reported. One ended up in a ditch and the other came to a stop in the center divide with the Kia.
A man was a passenger in the Kia, which had stopped in the center divide, and got out to help others who had been involved in the accident. A 911 call was received and within minutes, sirens could be heard in the distance. Emergency crews arrived and the passenger who was helping others pointed out who was injured. Paramedics located the injured occupants and transported them to a local hospital to receive treatment. The severity of injuries has not been disclosed.
Officers began the investigation into this collision, which took hours, according to reports. Following the investigation, they requested a tow truck to come and remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the highway. The debris that was left behind took hours to clean up once the investigation had ended. Officers continue to investigate this accident in an effort to uncover who was at fault and what exactly happened to cause this collision on Highway 101 in Windsor.
