Joaquin County, CA (November 4, 2024) A devastating accident occurred in Joaquin County on Saturday morning, claiming the life of Katharina Heibert Janzen. The pregnant 21-year-old was killed when the vehicle sank to the bottom of a body of water. It happened on Highway 4, not far from Whiskey Slough, around 5:15 a.m.

It was early morning on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, as a vehicle heading along Highway 4 in Joaquin County suddenly lost control. The car went off the road and landed in a body of water, according to reports. The vehicle quickly began to sink into the water. The driver of the vehicle was able to get free, however the passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and could not get free.

Crews arrived at the scene and found the driver of the vehicle. The helicopter and a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Officer boating team arrived at the scene. Witnesses told authorities where the car went down and a search team tried to find the vehicle with the passenger’s body inside. The vehicle could not be found and officers continue the search.
