Debris was thrown in every direction and both drivers sustained injuries in the collision, officers said.

The Orange County Fire Authorities and the OC Register arrived at the scene within minutes and found the two vehicles damaged in the middle of the intersection. Officers had to direct traffic around the accident as paramedics evaluated the two drivers. Officers said that both drivers were able to get out of their vehicles following the accident. Paramedics ended up taking both drivers to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators gathered evidence at the scene and spoke to witnesses following the collision. They are determined to piece together what happened at that Lake Forest intersection, as well as who was at fault.
