Marcus Giesen Killed, Wife Badly Injured In CA Crash

5 injured in Westwood crash.

Pixley, CA (July 18, 2024) A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, July 13. High school sweethearts Ally and Marcus Giesen were traveling to Yosemite National Park that morning with a friend and their dog, Sky.

They were near Pixley when suddenly, the friend who was driving the car lost control and struck a guard rail. The collision was so violent that Marcus had to be airlifted to a hospital in Visalia. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.

The couple’s beloved dog Sky was also killed in the accident. The driver was treated at the scene.

Ally, Marcus’ wife, was taken to the same hospital by ambulance. She suffered a fractured skull, a brain bleed, and broken bones in her face, back, neck, wrist, hand, and arm. As of July 17, Ally was still in the ICU. She is improving day by day, according to a Caring Bridge update from her mother. The family set up a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses and travel, as the Giesens are from Minnesota, and their loved ones still live there. Their family members have traveled to California to help aid Ally’s recovery.
