Michael Anthony Morgan Arrested After Crash Leaves 1 Dead In Georgia

Paulding County, GA, (November 2nd, 2023) 41-year-old Micheal Anthony Morgan was arrested on Tuesday, October 31st, after he fled from a collision he caused in Paulding County, Georgia. According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the entire ordeal began around 6:50 a.m. on Halloween day.

The deadly crash happened near Cohran Road and Mulberry Rock Road, according to authorities. Morgan drifted from his lane into opposing traffic, causing a major collision. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office reported that multiple people were injured in the collision. Paramedics arrived at the sceen and found one person with life-threatening injuries. They placed the victim on a gurney and gently, but quickly, loaded them into the ambulance before rushing them to the nearest hospital for treatment. Sadly, the victim later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital and were pronounced dead.

Michael Anthony Morgan fled the scene following the collision. Authorities worried they had a hit-and-run on their hands, but the Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia State Patrol Troopers, and even the U.S. Marshals worked together to find him. They spent most of Halloween day searching for Michael Anthony Morgan. They eventually found him at his home in Temple.

Morgan was arrested without incident and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during the collision. Once he received medical clearance, he was taken to Paulding County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. Morgan is facing 9 different charges: Homicide by vehicle, hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death, serious injury by vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to maintain lane, driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance, defective tires, and lastly multiple warrants from various jurisdictions.
