North Hollywood, CA (August 20, 2024) On Monday, August 19, a two-vehicle crash left multiple people critically injured.
The collision occurred a little after 1 p.m. at the 11000 block of West Victory Boulevard at the intersection of Vineland Avenue. It’s not yet clear how the crash started, but one vehicle struck a 22-year-old pedestrian and slammed into a light pole that then fell on top of the vehicle. The light pole trapped two people in the car, and firefighters had to free them.
The pedestrian and the two men in the vehicle were taken to a trauma center with serious injuries. The driver of the second vehicle involved sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
