Ricardo Martinez Killed In Santa Fe Springs Collision

5 injured in Westwood crash.

Santa Fe Spring, CA (September 12, 2024) The community of Santa Fe Springs was blanketed in sadness on Wednesday night, following a deadly collision. One person lost their life in the two-vehicle accident that occurred just before 6:00 p.m. on September 11th, 2024. It happened on Meyer Road, according to authorities.

For reasons that remain unknown, two vehicles collided at 1320 Meyer Road in Santa Fe Springs on Wednesday evening. The two vehicles became wrecked pieces of metal as people began calling 911.

Officers arrived and found the vehicles in bad shape in the middle of the roadway. They hurried to find anyone in need of medical care and, unfortunately, found one person with life-threatening injuries who was said to be unconscious. Mere minutes after calling for an ambulance, officers called for a coroner. The victim had succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Ricardo Martinez.

Investigators worked the scene and are determined to figure out what caused this accident, as well as who was at fault. Tow trucks arrived at the scene to remove the wrecked vehicles once the investigation was finished. Debris and glass had to be removed from the scene as well, reports indicated.
