Ferndale, CA (August 27, 2024) A head-on collision in Ferndale left one injured on Friday afternoon, August 23rd, 2024. The collision occurred on Coffee Creek Road right just before 5:00 p.m.
As traffic moved along Coffee Creek Road in Ferndale, a red sedan and a silver Toyota approached each other. Suddenly, and for reasons that remain unknown, the two vehicles collided, head-on, right around 4:50 p.m. Debris and glass were thrown in every direction, all over the roadway, reports indicated. One of the victims became trapped inside their vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene. They found the two vehicles in the middle of the roadway, both with major damage. They discovered that one person was trapped inside their vehicle. Firefighters arrived and used special tools to free the trapped person, according to reports. Paramedics at the scene loaded the victim into an ambulance and took them to a local hospital for treatment. The injuries were non-life-threatening and the victim is supposed to make a full recovery.

Officers closed Coffee Creek Road and began investigating the scene in an effort to learn what exactly happened to cause this head-on crash. Tow trucks were requested to the scene to remove both of the badly damaged vehicles and crews worked to clean up the glass and debris that had been left behind.
