Fremont, CA (August 14, 2024) Three vehicles collided near Interstate 680 in Fremont on Tuesday, August 14th. Officers reported that the collision occurred on the Vargas Road on-ramp, near Interstate 680, around 11:34 a.m. One person was left with injuries in the Alameda County collision, reports indicated.
A Mini Cooper, a white Honda sedan and a blue Ford Expedition were traveling through Fredmont near Interstate 680. For reasons that remain unknown, the three vehicles collided on the Vargas Road on-ramp, tossing debris in every direction. The damaged vehicles blocked the on-ramp, causing traffic delays, reports indicated.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles blocking the roadway. They found one person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital by ambulance to receive treatment. It is unknown at this time if anyone else sustained injuries in this accident.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol gathered information and questioned those at the scene, following the accident. They are working to determine what happened on the Vargas Road on-ramp, off of Interstate 680 in Fremont. They are also piecing together who was responsible for this accident.
