Ukiah, CA (June 26, 2024) One person sustained injuries on Tuesday morning, June 25th, when their vehicle rolled on Highway 101. It all happened at approximately 11:15 a.m. between the towns of Ukiah and Redwood Valley. The collision caused major delays for commuters on the highway, according to reports.

Late morning on Highway 101 saw a steady flow of traffic as motorists headed to and from their destinations. Suddenly, a silver Toyota Highlander began driving recklessly in the southbound lanes of the highway, according to witnesses. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it began to roll. It ended up on its side in the no. 2 lane of the highway, blocking traffic. Witnesses reported that fluids began leaking from the vehicle, spreading all over the highway. Traffic began to back up as emergency personnel made their way to the scene.

Officers began diverting traffic away from the No. 2 lane, causing significant delays in traffic. Cal Fire and a wrecker arrived at the scene shortly after the CHP. Paramedics found at least one person inside the vehicle with injuries, according to reports. They took at least one person to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment, however, the extent of injuries has not been disclosed.

Officers gathered evidence from the scene as quickly as they could and crews had to clean up debris and liquid, which took hours. Authorities are working to determine what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle on Highway 101. The investigation is ongoing, officers reported.
