Lytle Creek, CA (August 5, 2024) A tragic rollover accident took place in Lytle Creek, California, on Friday evening, August 2nd. It happened around 8:20 p.m., officers reported, just a couple of miles from Glen Helen Parkway. The rollover collision sent a passenger flying through the windshield, according to reports.
The sun had set on Friday evening as a vehicle headed along Lytle Creek Road. For reasons that remain unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle, sending it rolling in the westbound lanes of the road. As it rolled, the passenger was thrown from the vehicle, reports indicated. When it finally came to a stop, the vehicle was completely smashed and destroyed and a trail of debris and glass covered the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the vehicle completely destroyed on the roadway. Paramedics rushed to the passenger who had been ejected, ready to begin life-saving measures. Reports indicated that the victim was bleeding and struggling to breathe. Paramedics began trying to save the passenger, however, their injuries proved too severe and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Update: The victim has been identified as Joanna Guttierez (24) of Rialto.
Officers investigated the scene, gathering as much evidence as they could find and are working tirelessly to determine what exactly happened. Following the investigation at the scene, crews began cleaned up the debris and glass that had been left behind. Officers requested a tow truck to come and remove the wrecked vehicle from the roadway.
