Tulare County, CA (November 28, 2023) – At least one individual passed away on Tuesday, November 28th, following a pedestrian accident on Avenue 8 in Tulare County, California. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 5:51 a.m. at the intersection with Road 208 in front of the Famous Vineyards storage facility.

The victim was walking, likely crossing the road, at the intersection when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene of the accident without stopping to provide aid or report the accident. Witnesses described a dark gray truck, that may have been the vehicle responsible, leaving the scene but nothing has been confirmed by police.

The Tulare County Fire Department dispatched paramedics to the scene to aid the injured pedestrian. Sadly, they had already succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead when paramedics arrived. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police are urgently investigating this hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Avenue 8. They are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect and vehicle involved in the accident.
