Elverta, CA (June 18, 2024) A two-vehicle collision in Elverta on Monday, June 17th, left one person with serious injuries, according to police officers. The accident occurred on Base Line Road in Sacramento County just before 1:00 p.m., reports indicated. The victim had to be airlifted from the scene following the collision, just west of Roseville.
It was just before 1:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, June 17th, as vehicles headed to and from destinations in Elverta. A white SUV and a red Nissan Rogue were both traveling alone Base Line Road, when for reasons that are still unknown, they collided. The force from the collision caused one of the vehicles to overturn, according to reports. Debris was flung for several feet in every direction, blocking lanes of traffic.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles, one that had overturned. Cal Fire Placer County Paramedics arrived at he scene and hurried to check on the occupants of both vehicles. They found one person who had sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision and called for a medical helicopter to come to the scene. The victim was airlifted to a trauma center where they received emergency medical care.
Sadly, paramedics found another victim who was unresponsive. They began administering life-saving treatments, but the person’s injuries were too severe. Finally, authorities were forced to pronounce the victim dead at the scene. A tarp was respectfully laid over their body as officers waited for the coroner to arrive.
Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway following the initial investigation. Officers gathered as much evidence as they could find from the scene and took statements. They are determined to figure out what caused this fatal accident, as well as who was at fault.
