San Diego, CA (February 20, 2024) Lives were changed forever on Saturday afternoon when two vehicles collided on Highway 76 in San Diego. The quiet community of Warner Springs was suddenly filled with wailing sirens as emergency crews rushed to help those involved. The violent crash claimed one person’s life and left three others seriously injured, officers said.
It was nearly 2:44 in the afternoon on February 17th, as vehicles drove along highways near Lake Henshaw. At the intersection of Highway 76 and Highway 79, a vehicle T-boned another vehicle, blocking traffic and resulting in serious injuries.
Cal Fire arrived at the scene and found five people, who had been involved in the accident, on the ground. One of them, a woman, was critically injured, authorities said. Paramedics performed life-saving measures as they loaded her into an ambulance, ready to get her to a hospital as fast as they could. Sadly, she never made it to the hospital and was pronounced dead in the ambulance.
Three other people were taken to area hospitals to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, officers reported. A fourth person was involved in the collision, but was not injured and refused medical care.
This accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. They are determined to discover what caused this fatal accident and who was at fault.
