HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 30, 2022) – A Huntington Beach pedestrian, identified only as a 45-year-old Rancho Palos Verdes man, was struck and killed by a Huntington Beach Police Department vehicle on Saturday.
The officer was responding to a call when he struck the unidentified man on North Pacific Avenue and Broadway around 5:30 a.m., according to KTLA 5.
The male pedestrian was hit by the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Ford Explorer that was on its way to a call.
Tragically, the man died after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The officer responding to the call is a 22-year-old resident of Huntington Beach. He was not injured in the collision.
