CARLSBAD, CA (April 13, 2023) – Thomas Artman, a 27-year-old man from Oceanside, has been identified as the victim of a deadly car accident in Carlsbad that occurred during a rainy day.
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the police, the accident took place on March 30th, shortly before 6:30 a.m. Artman lost control of his Mazda MX-5 while driving on a wet stretch of Faraday Avenue near El Fuerte Street.

The sports car was traveling at high speed when it suddenly swerved onto the westbound side of the street, colliding with a Honda Accord and a Toyota Corolla. The Mazda overturned, tumbled onto a sidewalk, and caught fire. Tragically, Thomas Artman died at the scene of the accident.
The other two drivers involved in the accident were taken to hospitals by paramedics for treatment of their injuries, the severity of which has not been disclosed. The accident remains under investigation by the authorities, and no further details have been released at this time.
