Three-Vehicle Collision On SR-59 Leaves Two Injured In Merced

2 injured in Highway 395 crash in Adelanto.

Merced, CA (March 21, 2024) It was just after noon as vehicles headed to and from destinations on State Route 59. Suddenly, three vehicles collided at the intersection of Sandy Mush Road in Merced, according to authorities. Two people were injured in this multi-vehicle crash, one of whom was trapped inside their vehicle, officers said.

A Toyota Camry, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a black car collided on State Route 59 for unknown reasons. The collision caused the driver of the pickup truck to lose control and the vehicle flipped, officers reported. The Toyota Camry was so damaged in the accident that the driver became trapped inside. Firefighters had to use special tools to extricate the driver. Paramedics at the scene found two people with significant injuries following this multi-vehicle accident.

Authorities called Freitas Auto Wreckers and Pete’s Autobody to come to the scene and remove tow of the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Crews worked quickly to remove glass and debris from the highway as investigators gathered evidence to help them better understand what happened on State Route 59. They are determined to discover who was at fault in this three-vehicle accident in Merced.
