An SUV was driving along 23rd Street in downtown Bakersfield on Tuesday morning, when the driver suddenly lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the front window at New City Cleaners, shattering the huge plate glass window in the process.
Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicle surrounded by glass. They found two men inside the vehicle with injuries and began treating them at the scene. An ambulance transported both men to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment, reports indicated.
Investigators are working to determine what caused this accident in downtown Bakersfield. It has not been disclosed if the two injured were inside the vehicle or inside the business at the time of the collision, according to reports. The vehicle was towed from the scene and hours of cleanup are still needed.
